Why You Should Do The Things That Scare You

That old chestnut-

It is better to regret something you've done, than to regret an opportunity missed.

Things I did this weekend that made me a bit nervous:

-Drew a moustache on my face with liquid eyeliner
-Drank sambuca
-Showed my engaged best friend the Pronovias rail in a bridal shop (when I'm supposed to be the responsible one)
-Went to a film premiere
-Patted a cow
-Slept in til after 10am

All these things have enriched my life.

Apart from maybe that sambuca.

  2. Agreed! Tonight I'll be helping out my zumba instructor by taking the class while she's ill... I'm bricking it but I know I'd regret turning it down!

    Here's to pushing the boundaries :) x

  3. Sounds like awesome fun! Things I did this weekend that made me nervous...

    1) Went out drinking dressed in a body-con sequinned dress and a hot pink wig, looking what happened when the 1980s collided with the Fifth Element.

    2) Went surfing with a severe hangover the next day (I stood up, on a surf board, and surfed... beyond awesome)

    1. Hooray for the hen!! I'm so glad it was fun - dying to see pictures -are you hooked on surfing now? Did you freeze? Did your endless PT sessions and incredible core strength assist you in being like Lori Petty in Point Break (only slightly hungover?)

    2. LOVED surfing, I want to go again when we go on our honeymoon! The core strength and my thighs of steel were very helpful in getting me to standing position many times, but apparently my instinctive reaction to getting upright is to panic and jump off... the instructor thought I was insane!

I should blog the photos sometime, but there's some here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.910217292952.313208.286102245&type=3&l=0f45fb79a9

    5. One of my BM's actually hand-stitched the felt willy onto that vest. Obviously that's my wedding night attire sorted.

  4. Okay I was ill all weekend (still am) so having a shower and getting dressed felt out there for me!

But Penny you went to your film premiere, how was it??? x

    1. :( Hope you feel better soon Roz! What a rubbish way to spend a bank hol...although at least you had an excuse for lying on the sofa and mine was self inflicted. The film premiere was ace thanks, I was amazed at how lovely the producers are (I've been working with them for three years over email!) and feel inspired to start writing short films again. It did make me pang for my old life working in the media though... so it was bittersweet!

    2. Glad you had a good time at it, does this mean you'll be going to a few more? Maybe it's not so bittersweet if you do start writing short films again? x

  5. YAY for everything except sambucca. I can't look at sambucca after having a competition at Uni with a friend's boyfriend to see who could down 10 shots the quickest. I won.

This weekend I climbed up a waterfall (well, partly up a waterfall anyway). I was quite chuffed about that.

    2. Gordale Scar. I only went up a bit because I was worried about getting back down but we're going to go back and climb to the top sometime and then do the walk from there to Malham Tarn.
